Take-back obligation
You are obligated to accept discarded batteries free of charge, without the obligation to make a purchase.
Collecting batteries as a company or store
Legally, every point of sale or shop that sells batteries is also required to take back used batteries, and this without the obligation to make a purchase. But of course next to that, you can also collect batteries from an ecological perspective, or because your company itself uses a lot of batteries. Whatever the reason, Bebat is more than happy to assist you.
Who is obligated to collect batteries?
For distributors and end-sellers of (products with) batteries, specific obligations apply, including the collection of used batteries:
You are obligated to accept discarded batteries free of charge, without the obligation to make a purchase.
You must hand over the collected discarded batteries to Bebat or to the producer or importer.
You need to inform customers about the types of batteries you take back and the costs incurred by the producer or importer for this.
Are you a company that uses batteries?
As a company, by law, you must separate your waste, including batteries, by fraction. Additionally, you need to provide a handover certificate confirming that the batteries were handed over to a recognised collector. Bebat can provide you with suitable collection units and assist with the collection.
Do you want to collect batteries for other reasons?
Do you want to organise a collection campaign from an ecological conviction with your company? Would you like to offer a Bebat collection unit as an additional service to your employees or customers? Bebat can also support you in that.
This is how Bebat can help you
Are you legally obligated to collect batteries? Then Bebat can help you meet your obligations, if you register as a Bebat collection point. Are you not legally required? You can still become a collection point and use our services. Moreover, becoming a Bebat collection point is completely free!
Bebat has a variety of collection materials available. Depending on the type of batteries you collect and the quantity, we provide the appropriate collection unit — free of charge and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
Bebat provides safe collection units in good and clean condition, specifically equipped to collect batteries and tailored to your specific needs.
On MyBebat, as a collection point, you can quickly and easily track your collections, download collection certificates, manage your locations, and much more.
By becoming a Bebat collection point, Bebat will come to pick up the batteries. After the pickup, you can download your handover certificate on MyBebat.
What do we ask from you as a collection point?
Bebat helps you as a collection point to safely and correctly collect used batteries. In return, we ask the following from you:
Place the unit in an easily accessible location. Convenient for your customers or colleagues, doubly convenient for our people who collect the batteries.
Make sure you stand out as a collection point. You can access posters, stickers, and other useful communication materials on our download centre.
Keep your collection unit neat and tidy. Make sure it is in a dry place so that no (rain) water can get inside.
